This year we received over 75+ film submissions where we selected a total of 53 films (49 Short films and 4 Feature films) to screen at our new venue locations: AMC Camp Creek 14 and the Four Points Sheraton (Ballroom Theater) in East Point, GA. And if time permits, certain Short Screening Blocks and Features will be afforded a post-film Q & A discussion with the directors, producers, writers, key cast and the viewing audience.
On Day 1, Opening Night, our Movie Marathon kicks off with a series of Short Films (Screening Block 1 – Boss Chick Flicks) followed by the Atlanta premiere of the feature film, “Ebony Hustle” scheduled to be released nationally at the end of this year.
On Day 2 is our own version of Black Friday where we host two signature panel events, Pitch Black and Streaming Black, followed by another series of Short Films (Screening Block 2 – Being Black & Social Injustice themed films). In line with our Black Friday moniker, the feature film “Fatima’s Revenge” will make its film festival debut immediately following the Shorts.
On Day 3, Movie Marathon continues with Saturday Afternoon Shorts, a series of Short films within several Screening Blocks categorized by such common themes as Fantasy/Sci-Fi, Psychological, Relationships, Comedy and Crime Dramas. This evening will end with back-to-back feature films, “Inexistent”, a romantic drama, and “Dogface”, a Trap House horror film
And Day 4, appropriately labeled as Sunday Service, concludes our Movie Marathon screenings with three remaining Short Film Screening Blocks categorized as Spiritual, Silent, and Experimental films. The 2nd Annual BFF-ATL Awards, aka “The Indies” will commence shortly afterwards.
